Biography
I am a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon in the The Belfast Trust caring for patients in the Royal Victoria Hospita/Belfast City Hospital/Ulster Clinic. I am Lead for Colorectal Surgery. I trained in the North East of Scotland Deanery, working as a Consultant in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for 6 years before moving to my current role in Belfast. I am currently President of the Ulster Society of Gastroenterology. My special interests include laparoscopic hernia surgery, surgical diagnosis and treatment of bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, functional bowel disorders, pelvic floor surgery (prolapse), complex endometriosis (colorectal endometriosis MDT member) I am a member of Association Of Colorectal Surgeons GBI. I represent Belfast on the Northern Ireland Cancer area network. Clinical Co-Chair Endoscopy transformation group DOH. I am a Faculty member for RCSEd HSS, NOTSS RCSEd, RCSEng Strategies in emergency Surgery, lead STEPS Colorectal Ireland.
