The ALSGBI are keen to support this study. We feel it will answer important questions surrounding transmission of COVID -19 at the time of laparoscopic surgery.
The principal investigator (Mr Ahmed Ahmed) is looking for other centres to contribute to this study. Primarily, patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery who are COVID-19 positive are required for enrolment. Clearly at the present time there will be very few of these hence the need to involve other centres. There is no cost implication for your unit. The PI will travel to collect the appropriate samples at the time of surgery.
