Some Intercollegiate guidelines in the UK on surgical management during the COVID-19 period have been in variance with those of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES).
Initially, several regions placed restrictions on laparoscopic surgery but as the pandemic progressed, practices changed and variation in approach to laparoscopic surgery developed. The aim of the second cycle of this audit is to assess current practice with regards to minimal access surgery within the UK, and to compare practice during the first wave and second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
