OPTIMISING USE OF ROBOT-ASSISTED SURGERY: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES

You are kindly invited to a one-day event at the Royal College of Surgeons on Optimising Use of Robot-Assisted Surgery: Challenges and Opportunities. The aim is to bring together healthcare professionals, policy makers, and researchers to discuss how to integrate robot-assisted surgery into practice. Presentations will draw on a recently completed three year project funded by the National Institute for Health Research’s Health Services & Delivery Research programme, which ran alongside the ROLARR trial (RObotic versus LAparoscopic Resection for Rectal cancer).
Topics will include:
• How best to introduce robot-assisted surgery into your hospital, including issues of training;
• How robot-assisted surgery changes the roles of team members and the consequences of this; and
• How to ensure safe and effective teamwork when undertaking robot-assisted surgery.
